Tuscany Blooms and Florence Flowers

This Spring Immerse yourself into Italy's
Tuscan countryside and Florence,
the cradle of Renaissance.

Itinerary:

“Refined people built the Tuscan countryside as a work of art. These were the very same people who in the 15th century commissioned paintings and frescoes: this is the characteristic, the main feature that throughout the centuries can be found in drawings of the countryside and the architecture
of Tuscan houses. It is incredible how these people built their rural landscape as if they
had no concern but that of creating a thing of beauty“.   - Henri Desplanques

DAY ONE/TWO (APRIL 2 AND 3): Embark on a journey of a life-time with Cornerstone and WildflowersSTL to Tuscany, Italy. Overnight Flights to Florence from St. Louis.  We will arrive in Florence early afternoon and transfer on our private group transportation to our Florence Hotel. Upon arrival - relax, refresh and enjoy dinner at the hotel or at a nearby restaurant at your leisure.  Accommodations for two nights: Florence.

DAY THREE (APRIL 4): Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning prior to discovering Florence with our private Italian Guide. Florence (Firenze) is the capital city of the Tuscany region is known for many splendid things, including its outstanding art, gardens, Renaissance architecture, and distinguished cultural heritage. One of the most famous landmarks in Florence is the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with its massive red dome dominating the city’s skyline. We will explore this magnificent city to experience it’s grandeur up close and personal making several stops - including the Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria, and Ponte Vecchio Bridge on the Arno River. This afternoon, we will visit Villa Bardini Gardens - comprising 10 acres of woodland with a vegetable garden and a fruit orchard beneath the city’s medieval walls. The garden embodies seven centuries Florentine gardening and history of innovation and change in botany and in fashions. In the 16th and 17th centuries it was a Florentine Baroque garden with grottoes, statues, and fountains. In April, the garden is covered in violet when the wisteria blooms on one of the most photographed pergolas in Florence. This evening we will enjoy a distinctive Italian welcome dinner in the city center.

DAY FOUR (APRIL 5): After breakfast, we depart Florence for the Tuscan countryside, with its hills and soft valleys where rows of vines, grapevines, olive groves and centuries-old cypresses outline the landscape that has been shaping the imagination of the most beautiful and civilized Italy for centuries. Our drive is mesmerizing with expanses of natural hills in spring bloom doted with quaint villages. Tuscany bridges Italy’s rural past, a symbol of the balance between a happy nature and the gentle hand of human beings. We will be immersed into Tuscany’s wine and food at the exclusive Poggio Amorelli overlooking the Tuscan mountain valleys. The Mazzarrini family welcomes us to their estate where we will treated to a Chianti Classico Italian luncheon and tasting. This afternoon our short drive leads us to our iconic Tuscany accommodations for the next three nights at Hotel and Spa Villa Campomaggio. The historic building from which the hotel was created dates back to 1776, is surrounded by vineyards, gardens and woods. The boutique villa boasts amazing rooms decorated in Tuscan style and a year-round outdoor garden pool. Included is the amazing spa, housed in the ancient wine cellar of the palace - a magical and relaxing place to regain our inner balance. You can relax in the large Jacuzzi, a Finnish Sauna,  Turkish Bath, and an Etrurian Bath with essences of the Mediterranean sea. Book a private aromatherapy massage (on own). This evening enjoy dinner on own at the hotel.

DAY FIVE (APRIL 6): Enjoy your included breakfast at the hotel. You may also join  Cornerstone’s wellness expert for a stretch, reflection and motivation gathering in the garden.  We depart to visit Tuscany’s premier Puscina Flowers - the first Flower Farm in Tuscany, specialized in the cultivation of seasonal flowers and sustainable floral design. Enjoy a full immersive floral experience with a private garden tour and  a behind the scenes demonstration to learn techniques of cutting and preserving cut flowers and the secrets to creating a completely sustainable floral composition. We also will have lunch on the farm and receive a packet of seeds from the garden to take home. Dinner tonight is included before returning to our hotel.
