 Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome Dinner in Boston
Welcome to Boston, where your Trains of New England adventure begins! After arriving, enjoy a motorcoach transfer to your hotel and take some time to settle in. This evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a warm Welcome Dinner, a chance to get to know each other and preview the scenic rail journeys and charming towns that await in the days ahead. (D) 

Day 2 – Amtrak to Portland, Seal Watching & Lobster Cruise
This morning, board Amtrak’s Downeaster for a scenic journey from Boston to Portland, Maine, passing through charming towns and along stretches of the Atlantic coast. Upon arrival, savor a fresh seafood lunch before stepping aboard a Catch and Release Cruise—where you’ll spot seals, learn about Maine’s lobstering traditions, and experience the rhythms of coastal life. With the day’s rail and sea adventures complete, enjoy some free time to explore Portland at your own pace. (B, L)

Day 3 – Mt. Washington & the Cog Railway
Today, journey into New Hampshire’s White Mountains to visit the legendary Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast and famed for its dramatic weather and sweeping vistas. Board the historic Mt. Washington Cog Railway—the world’s first mountain-climbing train, in operation since 1869—for a thrilling ride up the steep slopes to the summit. At the top, take in breathtaking views before enjoying lunch with the mountains spread out before you. This evening, settle into your hotel, reflecting on a day that blended natural wonder with historic innovation.  (B, L)

Day 4 – Conway Scenic Railway
Step back in time aboard the Conway Scenic Railway, where vintage 1950s-era passenger cars carry you through the breathtaking landscapes of New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Valley. Known as The Mountaineer, this heritage train winds past dense forests, rushing rivers, and sweeping mountain views, offering a nostalgic journey through one of New England’s most beautiful regions. Afterward, enjoy free time in the storybook town of North Conway, filled with quaint shops, cafés, and charm. (B, L)

Day 5 – Boston City Tour & Farewell Dinner
This morning, return to Boston and enjoy a guided city tour through its historic streets, iconic landmarks, and lively neighborhoods. From Revolutionary history to vibrant modern culture, Boston offers the perfect finale to your New England adventure. This evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a festive Farewell Dinner, reminiscing about the breathtaking rail journeys, charming towns, and unforgettable moments you’ve shared along the way. Day 6 – Travel Home
After a week of scenic rail rides and New England charm, it’s time to journey home. Transfer to the airport with your heart full of memories—from mountain summits to coastal cruises—that will stay with you long after the train ride ends. (B)
