Day 5
PORT OF CALL: Cartagena, Colombia. Once the port where the wealth of the New World flowed back to the Old, Cartagena also served as a notorious base for privateers and pirates. Today, you can stroll the tree-lined Spanish colonial artistry of old in the streets and see the works of the Gold Museum. The port is also a great place to find bargains on emeralds.
Day 6
Scenic cruising Day at Sea.
Day 7
Panama Canal Transit. We have arrived at the eastern entry of the canal. Spend an unforgettable day cruising the Panama Canal, a fifty-one-mile waterway through the rainforest that is one of the world’s engineering masterpieces. The ship glides down the canal with inches to spare, through locks that raise and lower it like a toy. Along the way it crosses enormous Gatun Lake, and the amazing Gaillard Cut, blasted out of a solid mountainside.
Day 8
PORT OF CALL: Fuerte Amador, Panama. Fuerte Amador is a cruise port located in Panama City, Panama. It is situated at the entrance of the Panama Canal, on the Pacific side of the isthmus. The port is located on the Amador Causeway, a man-made causeway that connects four small islands to the mainland.
Day 9
Scenic cruising Day at Sea.
Day 10
PORT OF CALL: Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Puntarenas is a paradise of sand beaches, pristine rainforests, and tranquil turquoise seas.
Day 11
Scenic cruising Day at Sea.
Day 12
PORT OF CALL: Puerto Chiapas, MX. The port of Puerto Chiapas (Tapachula), is located on the Pacific coast of Mexico, in the state of Chiapas. It is situated on the Gulf of Tehuantepec, near the border with Guatemala.
Day 13
PORT OF CALL: Huatulco, MX. Huatulco is made up of the bays of Huatulco, which are lined with quaint villages. Huatulco is made up of three areas: La Crucecita, another town on the beach; Santa Cruz, a prime destination for beach-lovers; and Tangolunda, home to a number of upscale resorts. Recent reconstruction of Huatulco, lovely beaches, and waters full of interesting species have created an environment very friendly to visitors.
Day 14
Scenic cruising Day at Sea.
Day 15
PORT OF CALL: Puerto Vallarta, MX. Hollywood discovered this little fishing village back in the 1960’s, and since then luxury resorts and bougainvillea-covered villas have flourished in the delightful seaside climate. Yet hints of past tranquility remain: cobbled courtyards where the locals hold their markets, and superb sport-fishing just offshore.
