Itinerary:
Join Cornerstone’s Board Member and Journey Host Claire St. Pierre on this amazing journey. Claire is a professional sommelier. After years abroad in Spain and France,
she was certified in wine service, wine tasting, and wine pairing.
She is thrilled to welcome you onboard!
DAY ONE: Flight to Sacramento, CA. On arrival we will have dinner and check into our accommodations in the heart of Napa for the next two nights!
DAY TWO: Napa Valley offers all of life’s greatest indulgences including wine, food, relaxation, and adventure. One of the top Wine Country destinations in the world, it is thirty miles long and five miles wide making it a small slice of heaven with more than 500 wineries. Napa Valley’s year-round temperate climate and fertile soil is key for the
vineyards and wines taste. Today, our exploration begins in Downtown Napa at the popular Oxbow Public Market, where you can browse from a myriad of local vendors. Mid morning we arrive at the fabulous Napa Wine Train - a decadent journey aboard the elegant vintage train through the valley and back to another time: the glamorous days of rail travel. Tables draped in white linen, silverware and crystal-clear glasses gleaming in the sunlight, etched glass partitions separating each table, mahogany paneling, and natural luxuriant wood tones — it’s a scene that harkens back to a bygone era of travel and the classic experience. Our three-course fine dining luncheon and 3 hour rail journey is truly a remarkable excursion. Later, we visit Beringer Winery, Napa’s oldest continually run winery. Beringer has a rich legacy of innovation and world-class quality winemaking. We will partake in a tasting of current release wines from Beringer’s premium reserve portfolio. Be immersed in the beauty of the historic house built in 1886 - a unique opportunity to drink in the history of Beringer and be part of this iconic winery and estate. This evening we will enjoy an included group welcome dinner.
DAY THREE: Our day begins at Sterling Winery - one of Napa’s most unique winery experiences! Perched on a 300-foot knoll, the winery offers panoramic views of the valley. The winery is the only one in the world with an aerial gondola that will transport us to the tasting room. We will enjoy a leisurely, self-guided wine tasting of five of Sterling’s most famous wines and stroll the grounds for a behind the scenes look at the art and science of winemaking. Lunch and browsing will be in Calistoga, famous for its natural hot springs. This village offers the charm of a small town and the sophistication of a European spa. We will overnight just north of Calistoga this evening.
DAY FOUR: Our short drive northwest leads us into the Pacific Coastal Cascades and Mendocino old growth redwood forest. This is one of northern California’s most scenic drives from the redwood valleys to the coast. Approaching Ft. Bragg, the forest begins to clear and the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean are breathtaking. Our first stop will be at Noyo Headlands Park, with its vast, endless horizon, stretching out beneath a sky where seagulls soar. Huge rock outcroppings dot the shoreline with the sound of rolling waves crashing into them. Enjoy the Pacific views and sip wine at Laguna Point. Believe it or not - your Journey Host, Claire, is also a professional surfer and has taught surfing in Nicaragua! If the tide is right - we will see surfers at Laguna and Claire will discuss the sport. This evening enjoy dinner together and overnight along the Pacific Ocean.
DAY FIVE: After a relaxing morning for breakfast and free time on the beach, we’ll drive along California’s scenic lost coast on famous HWY 1. We will make stops along the way to enjoy this truly magical drive! Our overnight will be near Santa Rosa, CA.
DAY SIX: Our amazing journey comes to conclusion this morning with our flights home from Oakland, CA airport. We hope you can join us!
