Oregon Adventure • Rivers, Roses, Redwoods, Reefs

Oregon is renowned for its incredibly diverse landscapes, offering a rich variety of natural environments within a single state. From the rugged Pacific coastline with its dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches to the lush, green forests of the Cascade Range, Oregon's scenery
is as varied as it is beautiful.
DAY ONE: Flight to Portland. Upon arrival, we will begin exploring at one of Oregon’s most beautiful gardens - The Grotto. This cliff-top natural site features 62 acres of peaceful shrines and lush, expertly groomed rhododendron gardens overlooking the Columbia River Valley, Cascade Mountains. Our next stop will be in Washington Park at the Portland International Rose Test Garden. This garden remains the oldest testing ground in the country for new rose varieties, and is home to over 10,000 rose bushes representing more than 600 varieties. Later in the afternoon, we’ll check into our accommodations and enjoy dinner at a local favorite restaurant.
DAY TWO: Get ready to experience Oregon’s famed Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood National Scenic Byway. Here is a region of Oregon where inspiration comes in full force - along towering trees and waterfalls, wildflowers and sweeping farms and agriculture, this full-day circle drive is simply breathtaking! The Columbia River Gorge is a spectacular river canyon, 80 miles long and up to 4,000 feet deep. Our first stop will be at Vista House, a historic and glamorous “comfort station” and observatory with a stunning view. Next we’ll visit the largest waterfall along the gorge - Multnomah Falls, one of Oregon’s top visitor attractions and one of the tallest year-round waterfalls in the United States at 620 feet! Our scenic drive continues around Mt. Hood to Government Camp. We’ll return for dinner at our hotel.
DAY THREE: We’ll travel southwest towards Oregon’s Coastal Cascades following the Willamette River. Our first destination will be in McMinnville - the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Leisurely explore this historic town with farm-to-table restaurants, shops, wine bars and galleries. In the afternoon we’ll drive through the scenic Cascade forests along the Salmon River, enjoying several breaks to “get out in nature” to take in the beauty up-close and personal. We’ll arrive to the Oregon Pacific Coast passing by miles of black sand beaches, quaint fishing towns, and glimpses of abundant sea life. We will make stops as we travel south on the famous HWY 101, including at Depoe Bay; known as one of Oregon’s best whale watching harbors. Hotel accommodations are in Newport, overlooking the Pacific and the historic Yaquina Lighthouse. Enjoy your evening walking the beach dinner at your leisure.
DAY FOUR: A short drive to Newport’s harbor, one of Oregon’s busiest fishing seaports, where we’ll get a view of the wild sea lions laying and frolicking along the docks. There will be time to browse and relax. Continuing the drive along HWY 101, our Journey Host/Driver will stop for photo breaks along the way as well as a picnic lunch stop by the shore. By late afternoon, we’ll reach the Oregon/California border and the Redwoods! Accommodations will be in Klamath, CA - in the Redwood Forest for the next two nights.
DAY FIVE: Minutes south of our hotel we enter into the Del Norte Coast Redwoods where we’ll make our first stop at the Trees of Mystery park. Since 1946, this attractions has been educating, entertaining, and introducing visitors to this awe-inspiring natural treasure. Redwoods are not only the oldest living species on the planet, some dating back over 2,000 years old, they are also the tallest trees in the world, measuring up to 380 feet and with widths of nearly 20 feet in diameter. Wander over to the Redwoods SkyTrail - a 1/3 mile journey through the forest tree tops via this unique gondola ride. Later, we’ll visit the Redwoods State and National Parks.
DAY SIX: We are off to Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park along the Smith River to Grants Pass, OR. Once a stagecoach stop, today it’s a top destination town in the Cascades. We’ll board our narrated Rogue Jetboat Excursion on the river to historic Hellgate Canyon. After this exhilarating experience, we’ll then travel north to Eugene, for our overnight.
DAY SEVEN: This morning we will fly home after our amazing Oregon Adventure!
